Begin on the Whaka Geothermal Trails, a geothermal trail through untouched geothermal terrain. Guided interpretation focuses on geothermal science, natural history and ecological understanding. Guests explore steaming lakes, bubbling mud pools, regenerating bushland and mineral formations while learning how these landscapes evolve. This is a nature and education-led experience, distinct from the village tour.

After discovering the valley, guests continue to the Deluxe Lake Spa. This lakeside area sits on historic spa grounds where visitors first bathed in mineral waters in the late 1800s. Fed by the Priest and Rachel Springs, the pools reflect Rotorua’s long tradition of therapeutic bathing. Today’s modern design honours that heritage, offering a calm, restorative soak with lake views.
